Rating : Intelligent, subtle yet very funny movie.
Director : Peter Bogdanovich ( The last picture show, What's up, Doc?)
Cast : Michael Caine (Dark Knight series as Alfred), Christopher Reeves (Superman series), John Ritter (Problem Child series, 8 Simple Rules, Three's Company)
Story : We follow a theater group from production to opening night to their and how their inter personal relations affect the play and their director
Review: It's very rare that you come across a movie which is funny, outrageous but yet very intelligent. Noises Off is all of these. This is a movie where the script, direction and the acting work very well together. We are shown the same play being enacted three different times, but each time the change in the relationship between the characters throws up completely new surprises and comic situations
The acting and the timing from everyone is absolutely spot on. The chemistry between all the cast members is great and no one breaks their character for even a minute. They way they create chaos is shown in a very smart way
It does lose a little steam towards the end but only a little.
One word of advice though, watch the movie a couple of times. There will be a lot of jokes, punch lines that you would miss the first time since it all happens so fast. But even a second viewing will not bore you.
Overall worth a watch for anyone who appreciates a good funny movie.
