Story : Janardhan is an awkward collegian who's family wants them to join their business. But he has dreams of being a Rockstar. He realizes that unlike his idols he never has had struggles or heart break in his life. Enter Heer, the hottest girl in college. Janardan tries to get her to break his part but the joke turns cruel when they actually fall in love and are separated. Thus begins the journey of Jordan the Rockstar. A heartthrob of millions but his passion threatening to destroy him and his loved ones.
Review : Imitiaz Ali managed to light up the screen in his previous work with the chemistry between his lead pair. More was expected when he brought alleged real life couple of Ranbir and Nargis together in a movie mainly based on passion.
However where Kareena was very adorable Nargis, though beautiful, cannot act to save her life. This majorly ruins any chemistry that could have happened. This works against the movie as it never allows the movie to really lift off. The direction is decent though not as crisp as Jab We Met.
The high point of the movie is Ranbir's acting and Rahman's music.
Overall a movie which had potential but just doesn't quite make it

6.5??? u give this movie SIX POINT FIVE???? This movie wasn't even worth 3 stars... may b 2 stars for may b Ranbir Kapoor, Rahman, the lyricist (forgot his name) and a few good scenes here and there.. otherwise this movie was a terrible waste of 2.5 hrs of my life which i am never gonna get back!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely senseless story with extremely bad handling. Instead of this movie Imtiaz Ali should have directed 2-3 music videos of the songs in the movie. That should have been some value for time for the viewers!!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't think it was bad . I mean i had seen worse like bodyguard, players. Comparatively it was a decent attempt. Like i said had potential but let down by Nargis's acting and direction
